Job Summary

Lone Star Lodge Resort and Marina is seeking a skilled and reliable General Maintenance Technician to oversee the upkeep and repair of our hotel, event venue, and marina. The ideal candidate will ensure all facilities, equipment, and outdoor areas remain in top condition to provide an exceptional experience for our guests. This role involves routine maintenance, emergency repairs, and proactive inspections to keep our property safe and fully operational.

Key Responsibilities

Facility Maintenance:

  • Perform general repairs on plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting as needed.

  • Inspect and maintain guest rooms, common areas, event spaces, and marina facilities.

  • Conduct preventative maintenance on systems and equipment to reduce downtime.

  • Ensure proper functioning of doors, locks, lighting, and other security features.

Grounds & Marina Upkeep:

  • Maintain the cleanliness and safety of docks, boardwalks, and outdoor event areas.

  • Perform minor repairs on docks, boat slips, and other marina-related infrastructure.

  • Maintain landscaping, irrigation, and outdoor lighting.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Monitor and follow safety regulations to prevent hazards and accidents.

  • Ensure compliance with hotel, venue, and marina maintenance standards.

  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff.

  • Identify and report major repair needs to management.

Equipment & Inventory Management:

  • Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies in an organized manner.

  • Monitor and report supply needs for repairs and maintenance.

  • Assist in seasonal maintenance tasks such as winterizing marina facilities.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience in general maintenance, facilities management, or a related field.

  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general repair work.

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions.

  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings as needed.

  • Experience in hotel, event venue, or marina maintenance is a plus.
