Job Summary

Lone Star Lodge Resort and Marina is seeking hardworking and customer-focused Dock Hands to assist with daily marina operations, including boat rentals, fueling, and helping slip tenants. Ideal candidates will have a passion for boating, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work in an outdoor environment. This role is essential to ensuring a smooth, safe, and enjoyable experience for boaters and guests.

Key Responsibilities

Boat Rentals & Customer Assistance:

  • Check boats in and out for rentals, ensuring proper documentation and safety briefings.

  • Inspect rental boats before and after use, noting any damages or maintenance needs.

  • Assist customers with boarding and docking boats safely.

  • Provide guests with marina rules, navigational guidance, and local boating information.

Fuel Dock Operations:

  • Assist customers with fueling boats while following all safety regulations.

  • Monitor fuel levels and report inventory needs to management.

  • Maintain a clean and organized fuel dock area.

  • Ensure proper handling of fuel spills or emergencies as per safety protocols.

Slip Tenant & Marina Maintenance Support:

  • Assist slip tenants with docking, tie-ups, and general boating needs.

  • Monitor docks, ensuring they remain clean, safe, and well-maintained.

  • Perform minor maintenance and cleaning of docks, rental boats, and marina facilities.

  • Report any safety hazards, damage, or needed repairs to management.

General Duties & Teamwork:

  • Provide excellent customer service and create a welcoming environment for boaters.

  • Maintain marina cleanliness, including docks, restrooms, and common areas.

  • Assist with special events, tournaments, and marina activities as needed.

  • Adhere to all safety and environmental regulations, including proper waste disposal.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous marina, boating, or dockhand experience preferred but not required.

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

  • Basic knowledge of boat handling, docking, and safety procedures (training available).

  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

  • Boating license or certification.
